Margot Robbie’s husband, Margot Elise Robbie (/ˈmɑːrɡoʊ ˈrɒbi/; born 2 July 1990) is an Australian actress and producer. Known for her work in blockbuster and independent films, she has received several accolades, including nominations for two Academy Awards, four Golden Globe Awards and five British Academy Film Awards. In 2017 Time named her one of the 100 most influential people in the world and in 2019 she was ranked by Forbes as one of the highest paid actresses in the world.
Born and raised in Queensland, Robbie began her career in 2008 on the television series Neighbors, in which she played a regular role until 2011. Moving to America, she starred in the television series Pan Am (2011-2012 ) and made his breakthrough in 2013 with the dark comedy film The Wolf of Wall Street. She gained wider recognition with starring roles such as Jane Porter in The Legend of Tarzan (2016) and Harley Quinn in DC Extended Universe films, starting with Suicide Squad (2016).
Robbie received critical acclaim and a Best Actress Oscar nomination for her portrayal of figure skater Tonya Harding in the biopic I, Tonya (2017). That recognition kept coming for her performances as Queen Elizabeth I in Mary Queen of Scots (2018), Sharon Tate in Once Upon a Time in Hollywood (2019), and a Fox News contributor in Bombshell (2019). She received BAFTA Award nominations for all three and an Oscar nomination for Best Supporting Actress for the latter film. Since then, Robbie has starred in the period film Babylon (2022) and the fantasy comedy Barbie (2023).
Robbie and her husband, filmmaker Tom Ackerley, founded the production company LuckyChap Entertainment in 2014, where they produced several films, including I, Tonya and Promising Young Woman (2020), as well as the Hulu series Dollface (2019-2022 ) and the Netflix miniseries Maid (2021).
