There are different options to keep your clothes clean and fresh longer, without washing them in the meantime. Easy when you don’t have the possibility to wash your clothes during your vacation. But also a good option for the home.
Clothes freshener
A clothes freshener combines the concealment of unpleasant odors with the addition of a pleasant fragrance. You can wear stain-free clothes for 1 to several more days. Do you have little space or do you want to take the air freshener in your hand luggage? Then pour some of it into a small, clean perfume spray bottle. For example, instead of the whole garment, you can also spray just the area around the armpits.
The spray contained alcohol
You can not only fill a perfume spray with clothes air freshener, but also with a mixture of alcohol and water. In a ratio of 1 part alcohol and 2 parts water. Alcohol kills bacteria that cause odors. You can use alcohol that you can buy at the pharmacy or use a small amount of vodka. It must be vodka without additional flavorings or sugar, otherwise the clothes will become sticky. As the alcohol evaporates, no odor remains. Only use it on materials that you are sure can withstand alcohol and therefore not, for example, on leather, silk or satin.
Hang clothes for a cleaner feeling for longer
Hang the clothes you want to wear again overnight on a hanger. Preferably outside, unless the garment can get wet in the rain. By hanging clothes in the bathroom while you shower, you get rid of wrinkles in addition to the smell. It also works well during the day for hanging clothes outdoors. Then the sun also helps, by killing the bacteria in the fabric.

Sachet of dried lavender
Take a bag of dried lavender with you and put it between your clothes in the wardrobe when you unpack the suitcase. Or leave it with the clothes in the suitcase. If you happen to be on vacation in the south of France, you can buy even more lavender-scented products, which will pleasantly scent the contents of your suitcase. Like, for example, soaps. Scented sachets with other ingredients are also a great option.
Baking soda
A sachet of baking soda is also useful to take from home, or possibly to buy at a vacation address. Do you put a musty-smelling garment in a bag overnight with a little powder? Then the smell is just as good, if not completely gone the next morning. You can simply pat the clothes to remove the rest of the powder. If the armpits in particular smell strong, you can also make a paste of baking soda with water and apply it to those areas. When the mixture has dried the next morning, you can simply pat it off the garment.
Cleaning longer in the freezer compartment
If your (holiday) accommodation has a refrigerator with a freezer compartment, you can put your garment in the freezer overnight. As a result, bacteria freeze and unpleasant odors disappear. Let the garment warm up for a few minutes before putting it on.
Only wash the stain with a stain remover
By taking a small bottle of stain remover with you, you can tackle stained clothes while on vacation. Without having to immediately put it in the washing machine. Dab the stain with it, let it soak for a while and rinse only that part under a running tap.
Also wash less often at home
Washing less can not only be a good option during the holidays. You can also wash clothes that aren’t really dirty at home less often. It saves energy because you don’t use the washing machine. In addition, it saves clothes, which therefore last longer, and it is better for the environment. To keep your clothes clean and fresh longer at home, you can use the same tips as above.
